• Bus Drivers—Route and/or Activity Drivers (2 positions)
  • Current Montana Driver’s License
  • CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) Endorsements
  • First Aid/CPR certified
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Duties include but are not limited to operating a school bus or transportation vehicle over an assigned route following an established schedule while exercising extreme caution and professionalism through a variety of weather and road conditions. Individuals must be willing to submit to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical examination.
• Paraprofessional
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent plus at least one of the following
  • a. Completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education;
  • b. Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or
  • c. Met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment
    • i. Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics; or
    • ii. Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.
•  Assistant Cook
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Duties include but are not limited to helping to prepare and serve meals and washing and sanitizing dishes This position requires an individual capable of performing strenuous physical duties, including but not limited to heavy lifting of at least 50 pounds.
  • ServSafe certification

Rapelje School District #32 is seeking certified applicants for the 2024-2025 School Year for these positions:

• Special Education Teacher 
  • K-12 with a small caseload and the opportunity to teach other subject areas as well
• K-12 Music Teacher
  • Part-time but could be full-time depending on additional certification 
• Business & Computer Skills Teacher
  •  Business classes and K-12 Computer skills​​​​​​
• K-12 School Counselor
  • Part-time but could be full-time depending on additional certification; interns are welcome to apply

The district prefers candidates with dual licensure for all positions. We have about 45 students in K-8, 20 students in the high school, and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 5:1. School housing may be available. The current rent is $175/month or $275/month, including water. Employees pay for internet, phone, propane, and electricity. Newly employed teachers will receive credit for up to five (5) years of prior experience. The 2024-2025 base is $30,338. Salary depends on certification and years of experience. The district contributes to health insurance. Coaching, extracurricular, and bus driving positions are available for additional stipends. Our school year is 169 days (including PIR days) with a five-day week, ending one hour early on Fridays. Rapelje School is a small rural school in south central Montana. We are located 25 miles north of Columbus, 70 miles from Red Lodge, 65 miles northwest of Billings, and 124 miles from Bozeman. Rapelje is centrally located for many types of outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, hiking, and skiing. Rapelje boasts a supportive community and positive work environment.
